MICHIGAN SKIER - FAREWELL

After over 40 years of serving Michigan skiers and the Michigan ski industry, Michigan Skier is going into retirement. Thanks to all for your support of this enterprise. Great Lakes Sports Publications has brought MS to you in print and then online. It has been my honor to serve as editor and webmaster. Go forth and enjoy your future skiing. -- Jim Neff

MICHIGAN SKIER EXLUSIVES

There were three MS Exclusives that we preserved for your enjoyment.

  • ANN'S KITCHEN -- This page was one of the favorites on MS. It received thousands of views every year. The recipes have a ski theme, but they are great for any time of the year.
  • CABERFAE PEAKS HISTORY -- This was my home ski area. I preserved a history of the resort because it's such a valuable piece of Michigan skiing. It was (and continues to be) a very popular feature for the state's skiers.
  • FREEDOM FOUND by Warren Miller -- NeffZone Book Review -- No ski season has officially commenced unless you have seen the latest Warren Miller movie. Miller's autobiography, “Freedom Found,” is an insightful look into what made him the “godfather of action-sports film making.”

KISStory TOUR

If you're skiing in Michigan, you might want to stop in Cadillac to experience one of the most iconic events in Rock 'n' Roll  history. Check out the Cadillac KISStory Tour and the only KISS Monument in the world.

"In October of 1975, Cadillac High School in Cadillac, Michigan made Rock 'n' Roll history when KISS played at their homecoming. Here is the full story about that visit presented by Jim Neff, the person who made it all happen. Included are never-seen photos, original documents, news articles, videos, and commentary."
